Plain bright polished pewter kidney shaped whisky flask, 2oz capacity, embossed with celtic circle on front.
Traditionally used by Scotsmen to keep their whisky in their pockets. Sized to discreetly fit in the pocket. On a cold day a sip of whisky – known in Scotland as a ‘wee nip’ of whisky - helps to warm up. It’s very typical for friends to share a wee nip occasionally while on days out walking, hiking, fishing etc.
The traditional Scottish toast is the Gaelic phrase "slàinte mhath" (pronounced “slange va”) meaning, "Good Health".
In Scotland, whisky flasks are often given as gifts for engagements, weddings, milestone birthdays, retirements and the like.
Pewter has been in use in Scotland since ancient times, because it possesses a unique combination of qualities. It retains its sheen, is hardwearing and is incredibly flexible to work with, making it the ideal material for crafting beautiful designs. It’s therefore no surprise that pewter has been in continuous use since the Bronze Age and is one of the world’s oldest manufacturing industries.

Your pewter gift will retain its lustrous finish with the minimum of care. If it has become dull, simply clean with a metal polish before you wash it. Always polish in straight lines for the best results. Wash it by hand in hot soapy water and dry it with a soft cloth. We do not recommend using a dishwasher as this can damage the metal.
As you would any vessel intended to hold food or drink wash your flask in hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly before filing with spirits, and again before each refilling. After washing, polish the outside surfaces of the flask with a soft cloth to maintain the high polish.
Avoid storing spirits in your flask for periods in excess 24 hours. Do not fill your flask with effervescent "mixer" drinks either alone or mixed with spirits.
Following these procedures will ensure that your favourite "tipple" remains in good condition and that your flask gives you many years of reliable service.
